Blinking Light Words and music by Audra Brown I don’t know much about my car The sounds, the signals The abbreviations on the dash But there’s this light It’s insistent, it’s persistent and It’s getting worse all of the time It’s blinking, It’s flashing It’s trying to tell me something But the truth is I don’t know And I don’t know exactly What you want to hear from me But you won’t hear it today There are some other things Where do I start? Some explanations And this place beside my heart The beating, the thumping I don’t quite understand it It’s racing, it’s pacing And I just can’t command it I’d like to say it’s getting better all the time But it’s not, it’s getting worse And I’d like to tell you That I am feeling fine But I’m not, I’m feeling hurt I don’t know much about my car The sounds, the signals The abbreviations on the dash But there’s this light It’s insistent, it’s persistent and It’s getting worse all of the time It’s blinking, It’s flashing It’s trying to tell me something But the truth is I don’t know…and it’s killing me And I don’t know exactly What you want to hear from me But you won’t hear it today There are some other things Where do I start? Some explanations And this place beside my heart The beating, the thumping I don’t quite understand it It’s racing, it’s pacing And I just can’t command it I’d like to say it’s getting better all the time But it’s not, it’s getting worse And I’d like to tell you That I am feeling fine But I’m not, I’m feeling hurt I’d like to say it’s getting better all the time But it’s not, it’s getting worse And I’d like to tell you That I am feeling fine But I’m not, I’m feeling oh so hurt

Nitro 04:11
Nitro Words and music by Audra Brown and Alleigh Brown Said hot like nitroglycerin Feed me like some adrenalin And I’ll be your queen Step under the caution tape Be everything you know you ain’t Nothings quite as it seems No I don’t really care about the life you’ve been wasting No I don’t really care what you do No I don’t give a damn about the words that you’re abusing right now I don’t give a damn about you Now I got things that you can’t touch Don’t get too close, you won’t get much You act you’re seventeen Sweet like boys that I can’t see Mean like boys that act like me Don’t you know what I mean No I don’t really care about the life you’ve been wasting No I don’t really care what you do No I don’t give a damn about the words that you’re abusing right now I don’t give a damn about you Now I don’t really know why you say you care about me But baby you’re probably wrong Now I don’t really know what you think you see But you’ll be leaving singing the same old song Step under the caution tape Be everything you know you ain’t Then you’ll give me a call Realize I’m your surprise I won’t be far from sacrifice And I won’t be there for your fall No I don’t really care about the life you’ve been wasting No I don’t really care what you do No I don’t give a damn about the words that you’re abusing right now I don’t give a damn about you

The Truth 03:25
The Truth Words and music by Audra Brown The validity of your obscurity is most certainly at risk What will you do when they all find out the truth about you Oh no! Tsk Tsk You’re busted baby! Yeah, yeah, we all know the truth The only one you’re fooling now is you Yeah, yeah, we all know the truth The only one you’re fooling now is you And after all I gave, I have nothing left to say to you You could have saved it all, instead you threw it all away You locked the door in my face, threw my things on the lawn I only paid for half of it but I’ll gladly keep it all Yeah, yeah, we all know the truth The only one you’re fooling now is you Yeah, yeah, we all know the truth The only one you’re fooling now is you Well, you yelled and you screamed And you told me I was mean But baby, look who’s yelling And you yelled and you screamed And you told me I was mean But baby, look who’s yelling And you yelled and you screamed And you told me I was mean But baby, look who’s yelling And you yelled and you screamed And you told me I was mean But I’m not the one who’s yelling am I? Yeah, yeah, we all know the truth The only one you’re fooling now is you Yeah, yeah, we all know the truth The only one you’re fooling now is you

Live What You Want Words and music by Audra Brown Live what you want Want what you live And don’t give up If you don’t, if you don’t want to Then you don’t have to It’s not a comedy It’s not a parody of life It’s what you make it So don’t you fake it It’s not a tragedy It’s not a pill you take Let’s not despair Who really cares? Live what you want Want what you live And don’t give up If you don’t, if you don’t want to Then you don’t have to And we’re not actors But this world’s a stage And we all know it But we’re here anyway It’s just a game It’s all how you play it You draw card and Try hard to portray it Live what you want Want what you live And don’t give up If you don’t, if you don’t want to Then you don’t have to Try to roll a seven Double down on eleven Or maybe not Just play the cards you got Live what you want Want what you live And don’t give up If you don’t, if you don’t want to Then you don’t have to Live what you want Want what you live And don’t give up If you don’t, if you don’t want to Then why should you?

about

Audra Brown first sang on stage as a 12 year old with the Drive-By Truckers in 2003 where she sang "Zip City". That was the moment she decided she wanted to be a songwriter/musician. At the age of 16, she opened shows for Patterson Hood, Michelle Malone and Girl In A Coma. Her songwriting was assisted by attending the Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp. While playing gigs in Memphis, Audra became friends with Cody Dickinson of the North Mississippi All-Stars and eventually they got into the studio for a week and created this magic.
